In Response To: Col. P. E. Burk ()

Sir, I am writing a regimental history of the Western Sharpshooters, and have been reading Colonel Patrick E. Burke's (so spelled in his regimental correspondence) official writings in the Missouri and Illinois State Archives. He was a very gallant officer, and I am very interested in the book you described. I am interested in examining it, and hearing where your son came into possession of it. I can provide extensive information on the Western Sharpshooters (Birge's/14th MO Vols/66th IL Vet Vol Inf), and Colonel Burke personally. Please write back if you receive this. Yours Very Respectfully, James Sullivan
