Dear Mr. Hatfield,

I am conducting archival research into the Western Sharpshooters: Birge's WSS; WSS-14th MO Vols; 66th IL Vet Vol Inf (WSS). I have been trying to locate an clear image of a member of the Regiment which shows the early war: bearskin bag; powder-horn; non-standard (Dimick provided) belts/straps. All the photos I have seen showing this early war rig have been low resolution images (usually photocopies). Do you have, or know where there is a clear/high-res image which will allow the inspection of the early war WSS accouterments?
Yours very respectfully.
James Sullivan
P.S. If are interested I have compiled a great deal of information on the regiment which I am eager to share
