Bruce, I have read a newspaper referenced as "Macon True Democrat" in the late 1880's or so in another MO newspaper..Also, in the preface of the book, they cited their sources from newspapers as: Huntsville Herald, the Moberly Monitor, and the Headlight. The Times, the True Democrat and Republican, of Macon, and the Home Press, of La Plata.
