This is what I have in my book, THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF QUANTRILL'S GUERRILLAS. Anna Fickle supposedly made the "Black Flag" for Quantrill. (Source: Carl Breihan 44-45).
Union General Egbert Brown sentenced Anna Fickle to 3 years in the Alton Military Prison for helping a prisoner escape from a Lexington prison. Source: Richard S. Brownlee, Gray Ghosts of the Confederacy, page 199.) Joseph Fickell may be related to Anna Fickle of Warrensburg, Johnson County, MO.
