The reason I stuck with the Nevins in Callaway county was the assertion that White's patrol burned their home on the patrol. As noted in my prior post I've not worked up any of the 4 or 5 different William Nevin(s) possibilities I've found in census and CSRs just a lack of time. William T has an extensive record due to his imprisonment and release but is consistently identified with Jackson Co as "home". There is a william R and a william M that may also fit. I do know that "Capt. Nevins" was not John R Nevins as he clearly survived the war. I was generally trying to fill in the geographic gaps from the OR.
