He is listed as enlisting with McKinney Boone County July 1862. Native of Boone Co, Resident of Rocheport.

Following the Stice name I find he was captured Camden County Nov 17th 1862 listed as 25 y/o statement taken at Gratiot Feb 3 1863. In it he claims to have been in Purcell's company of Porter's, enlisting at Boone. Sworn into CSA service by Porter in Howard Co. Claims to be heading South when captured, taken to Linn Creek for a week then Jeff City. Spent 2-3 weeks there then arrived Gratiot Dec 10th '62. Occupation as a farmer, headed south to Price's army after called to go on Nov 10th. Captured by Captain Dotson/Dodson. EMM https://www.fold3.com/image/258267265

A second group of records has him captured by Hart, indicates he was sent to Gratiot then released to Washington on March 4 '63 for exchange.https://www.fold3.com/image/88566007 This makes me wonder if Hart and Dodson were acting in conjunction or had co-mingled companies.

He ends up exchanged in the now commonly known Co H McKinney's 5th Mo headed back to Trans-mississippi ends up fightin at Bakers' Creek, Big Black, Vicksburg. Ends up in GA, fighting at Altoona, wounded, dies of wounds Oct 10 1864. https://www.fold3.com/image/120630161
