Re: Camp Blewitt
In Response To: Re: Camp Blewitt ()

Alan,

I am reading the book by David B. Boone, Jr. " Honor Without a Stain The 34th MS infantry Regiment 1862-1865". In the first chapter it talks about the sick being put on a train bound for Camp Blewitt near Columbus, MS. It states "...the sick were taken to the infirmary, known as the convalescent camp, ..." (page 21). This is my first attempt at finding someone in military, so I confess I'm probably wrong. I just figured that Camp Blewitt was some sort of camp for sick/injured soldiers. If you have any ideas to find my missing soldier H.C. Britt, please let me know. Thanks
