Stephen Lee's grandfather lived in the lower part of Abbeville District, S.C. (nwo upper McCormick County), and young Stephen D. Lee spent many summers visiting on the plantation, all traces of which are now gone. Victoria Lee was the last of the Lee's who lived in Abbeville; she died in the 1910's.
By his marriage to Regina Harrison, Lee became connected to the Hampton Family of South Carolina. The genealogy is called The Venturers; it is much more than a genealogy, but is better termed a family history. It covers the family relationships in a very good way.
