Hi, Fred.
Thank you for placing my 45-page abstract on the provenance of a previously unknown Confederate regimental battle flag, and a very capsulated history of the 32nd & 45th Regiment Mississippi Volunteer Infantry (Field Consolidated), on your Tippah County, Mississippi website. I have recently received a request to prepare another provenance and history on a captured Union flag, so I am hopeful this Mississippi Civil War Message Board will be available to help me solve the story of an enemy's flag captured in northern Mississippi!
This is a nice beginning for the 32nd & 45th Mississippi (Consolidated) that has been very overdew (my fault!) for these two Army of Tennessee regiments that were very battle experienced and brutally sacrificed during General John Bell Hood's Middle Tennesse Campaign in the fall of 1864. These two units were consolidated for well over one year during the Civil War, including all battles and engagements that commenced during 1863 in Lowrey's Brigade, Cleburne's Division.
With my gratitude,
Rob Swinson
