Rob --
Robert L. Bliss of Florence, Ala., Wood's-Lowery's Brigade. These are part of an uncatalogued ADAH collection that I was reviewing.
Many of the items you mentioned registered but were immediately discarded. Having low expectations of contemporary news articles, I allow them considerable leeway with factual information. It has to be a statement like, "General John 'Bill' Hood's Confederate Army" before I stop and blink.
The brigade inspection report I have reviewed is dated Aug. 25, 1864. Unfortunately the 32nd Miss. Regt. was on picket duty that day and actual numbers, present and absent, aren't on the report. However, I can get the inspector's comments about the regiment's arms and condition relative to other units in the brigade if they would be helpful.
