Chase, I think our feelings on this are quite different for unlike my Southern friends, I was not born, nor did I grow up in the South. I have spent much time in the South (Mississippi and Tennessee), lived in the South for about six years (Tennessee), did my undergraduate work in the South (Tennessee), live there now (Texas), have roomed with blacks while in the serice, all my maternal ancestors were Southerners (Virginia, South Carolina, Mississippi and Texas in that order) and, personally, I think the South and, in particular, Mississippi, is the most fascinating place in the US.

Some call "Mississippi" the most "loaded" proper noun in the English language - probably because the word itself conveys so many different images to so many people. There's just something about Mississippi you cannot put your thumb on.

At any rate, I really think each of our feelings toward posters of the "other persuasion" are quite different with mine not running quite as deeply as do many who post here. The "dividing line" you speak of is not nearly as well defined for me as I suspect it is for some others on the board.
