If Lee moved 'around to the right' as Longstreet and others suggest, what would become of the Confederate supply train and reserve artillery caissons? Would Meade's army remain inert while the ANVa redeployed? Some people seem to believe so.
Absolutely correct -- a Confederate victory at Gettysburg resulting in anything less than a catastrophic defeat of Meade's army would not have signaled an end to the war.
