It has a few drawbacks. The articles are transcriptions, not copies of the originals, and I've found a number of transcription errors. For that reason, I can't rely it on 100 percent as a source citation. It has a rather cumbersome search engine that's almost more trouble than it's worth.
I also have the 52-volume Southern Historical Society Papers CD from the same source and with the same drawbacks. Fortunately, I also have the complete 52 volumes in print. Damn near had to mortgage the house to pay for them. But this was way back before the age of personal computers and CD's. The CD is a little handier than plowing through thousands of pages of text in the books.
