George, here's some --

Nathan Bedford Forrest III, killed in action over Germany in 1943, was the grandson of Lieut. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest.

George S. Patton, Jr., of World War II fame, was the grandson of Col. George S. Patton, 22nd Virginia Infantry, killed in action at Winchester, September 19, 1864.

Husband E. Kimmel, who commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet on December 7, 1941, was the son of Col. Manning M. Kimmel.
