George, I'm operating strictly from an aging memory here, so proceed with caution, but I seem to recall that President Woodrow Wilson had some Confederate ancestors. I remember reading that he and his family moved from the Shenandoah Valley to Georgia, either just before the war, or very early in the war, so he may have had ancestors serving in either Virginia or Georgia regiments, or both.
