Mary Chestnut died in 1886. Sadly Frank, she never got to meet any of the Turchinov clan. Ah, a touch of the aristocrat in the Turchin blood. But, I expect she wouldn't be much interested in a Yankee, Russian, stoved-up individual. Probably being a South Carolina aristocrat, my kinsman W.N. Garrett, Colonel of the 64th NC Infantry couldn't make it through the front door...oh well, unlucky at love, lucky at cards....or something to that effect.
