Make note of the title of the Declaration of Independence. "The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America"; see what words are capitalized and those that are not. These are not typo's, since it was done in hand and with purpose; it was done to show importance of each word in relation to the other. The important words are [Declaration], since this is subject; [States] and [America], since that is the who in the subject. Notice [united] is not capitalized, giving that "union" a secondary role as a necessity of the Declaration.
We have shed our original government, cast another, broke apart, reunited and modified the second until its original intent has been changed. But the Declaration of Independance is still intact and valid, and we as Americans of States need to remember these words of our birth right more often, for in it is everthing we need to survive.
