Personally, I am highly offended by all the name changing. One day, they are going to want to remove the statue of George Washington Littlefield, who brought himself from ruins to wealth after the War. He was the primary benefactor in the first 50 years of the Univ. of Texas. He was also a Confederate veteran and former slave owner.
Side note: G.W. Littlefield served in Terry's Texas Rangers and fought at Shiloh, Perryville, and Chickamauga.
