It does seem a bit disrespectful doesn't it? Like William Chase buried under the dang asphalt in a parking lot. He built many of the forts. Odd as it is, yards away from his resting spot, across the street from the parking lot by the Naval Avaition Chapel is a historic marker telling of his many fine deeds. It does seem they didn't deem him 'fine' enough to at least leave the marker on his grave. His Plantation burial ground is gone. The markers that were there have been moved to the entrance to Ft Pickens but Chase isn't one of them. The remains of his family, if there were any left, were not moved with the tombstones. Geronimo's wife has a big marker at Barrancas National Cemetery. Kind of strange is what it is.
