To be honest, I really didn't pay attention to comedians or actors politics back when he started his career. I thought he was funny. I also liked the Smothers Brothers and we know what happened to them for being a bit 'political'. I liked the person he portrayed as Andy Taylor and to tell the truth, I liked Gomer n Goober too. Barney got on my nerves.
