Hmm. I would be a bit skeptical of the sellors claim and authenticity that it is indeed ole Jeff... Nothing in the ebay posting indicates a confirming ID inscription on the back of the image, ... came from decendent of the family... from an old museum or anything of where it came from... or any other ID to the person other than the sellors claim it looks like him... so must be him...

Because it looks simular to someone historically noteworthy doesnt immediately make it factually so... Yes there are simularities... but the more you look and compare this one with others known... more and more dissimular charactoristic features start to emerge... Plopping that kind of cash down on something it better have a good solid confirming provenance already on it... Huge difference paying 23K for one of ole Jeff... another thing to put 23K down on a possible $23 image of an unknown civilian...

Just an opinion and observation
