While I can't help you with Andrew Ramsey, maybe I can help you, and vice versa, with two Lawrence men from the Oconee Section of Pickens District.

Joseph B. Lawrence initially enlisted in I/4 S.C. at Pendleton 14 Apr 61, age ca 21. He reenlisted in C/13 S.C. BN at the reorganization in April 1862, and was one of those who was transferred to the Hampton legion Infantry on 16 Nov 62, in consolidated Company K. He is last shown on the muster rolls as present Dec 64. He was possibly wounded at Dandridge 17 Jan 64, but the only authority is a postwar compilation, and it may have confused him with Thomas B. Lawrence, info below.

Thomas B. Lawrence apaprently initially enlisted in G/5 N. C. CAv, and was discharged. he was conscriipted in K/Hampton Legion 21 May 63; he was wounded in the hip at Dandridge on 17 Jan 64, and was trransferred to the Invalid Corps for this disability 29 Nov 64. He was a resident of Bachelor's Retreat prewar, but lived in Westminster postwar. His leg was amputated postwar, and in 1880 he was issued a voucher to purchase an artificail leg. He died in 1897, per the Oconee Probate records, but I have no precise date.

I have a limited amount of other information on both of these men. Any help you can give me would certainly be appreciated.
