Thank you, Brian; can you direct me to the location of any of the regimental reports? I have found those of Col. Perry &, Col. Oates, from Longstreet's Alabamians, and a plethera of detailed descriptions from his Texans, but his South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas and Mississippi troops are phantoms. The best of his Mississippi diarests I've found (Robert Moore, 17 MS.)was killed at Chickamauga and wrote no report, though his brigade had the all but trivial casualties in the battle - TRIVIAL, if you weren't related to those hit! I believe I have found all the listed dead South Carolinians in a wonderful book, Kirland's Broken Fortunes, but my experience with other regiments always yeilds more dead from Chickamauga than officially listed, and I wish to inclued in my list of Killed and Mortally Wounded from the battle here in 1863.
