My great grandfather, Waitsel Aldridge (1834-1925) is buried under a headstone in a North Carolina cemetary that says "Corpl. Co. C 13 Tenn. Cav.".

I know nothing about the 13th Tennessee Calvary other than the fact that I believe it was a Union division.

Could someone please give me some information regarding this Civil War unit or direct me to a resource that can answer some of my questions?
