There is a John A. Roberts in Co. "I", 8^th (Baxter Smith's) Tennessee Cavalry. That company was recruited in Fentress County TN. Roberts evidently had prior service in Co. "F", 4^th (Murray's) Tennessee Cavalry.

I don't find a pension application or a service record under this name with Dibrell's 13^th Tennessee Cavalry.
