Re: Cage's Ford Skirmish Historical Marker?

Sure I know, the 31st Ohio, Company H. When I said "most likely ours" I was referring to the one regiment stationed by Thomas at Cage's Ford, I just was wasn't being specific. Sorry. That dispatch was on the 21st of Nov. '62. The lithograph in 'Battles and Leaders' states the date as the 21st as well where as David's (my gggrandfather)records state several times, the 22nd. Not unsual since the records state his being shot and captured at Chickamauga on the 19th and on the 20th. His tombstone writes Cage's Ford and Chickamauga but no dates of either. The mentioned newpaper article stated, "Four historic markers were added in Sumner County in 1999 which include New Hope Baptist Church, Morgan’s Raiders at Cage’s Ford, Abraham “Abram” Bledsoe, and Cairo School" Obviously something happened there on the 21st or 22nd of Nov. of '62. The original lithograph (of the one in 'Battles and Leaders') is in the Ohio Historical Society of which the caption is very much more detailed and specific. It's title reads: “The Camp of the 31st Ohio Vols. Shelled by the Troops under Col. Basil Duke of Gen. Morgan’s command, Nov. 21st, 1862.” If you would like the remainder, I'll post it. I was curious what the marker actually says. Perhaps only a simple transcription off the lithograph, maybe.
