Cages ford was at the end of Cage's bend road in Sumner County,it crossed the river and continued in to Wilson county. The site of the small skirmish is under water now (as far as I know) due to old hickory lake. If memory serves me, the Confederate's came up on the Wilson county side and the union was on the Sumner county side of the river. A few shots were exchanged and the next day the union withdrew and the Confederates gained the Sumner county side. I'll try to check my records when I have time. Do a "map quest" for Cage's bend road. Hope this helps a little. Donnie Vaughn
