Thank you Alan!!!!!!

I haven't found her book yet but every thing I found on those units referred to her book. Good to know that it is worth finding!

Thanks again for all your help!

Our unit is coming together very well thanks to all the help I have received. We all thought we were history buffs until the past year. We now know how much we didn't know and are eager to learn more. An off handed comment at a Memorial Day Service for the Confederate dead on Rock Island sent me on a search and checking the message board where y'all were talking about Galvanized Yankees.....

I have recently found a way to access prison records on line and have found several of the men and followed them to the prisons....if they died or took the oath etc. I've even found some of their graves. Our old Capt. knew his person's grave had been moved but didn't know where...I found it on findagrave.com! He was very pleased with the find and to know they didn't put a shopping mall on top of him!

Thanks Alan and everyone else that has helped so much! When I see Pitts,Hodges,Martin and Biggs on these records I wonder if these men are related to y'all!

Sincerely,
Nancy F.
