Thank you Darron for answering my posting.
The 27th Infantry was not in the Battle of Belmont, they were still at Henderson Station. I keep hoping that I can find a list of casualties for the regiment. This unit did fight at Shiloh, but my soldier was already gone. I'm sure you must be right about "killed" or "died". Either way, it would be nice to find the record and finally be able to know what happened to our "Grandpa Sion". Even if we don't find the grave,knowing would be great. Thanks again for your help.
