An "expert" once told me that Company E of Bradfords Bttn. wasn't even at Fort Pillow & that he probably wasn't captured & a POW at Andersonville.
My uncle has his war time diary which mentions folks who sent him items to Andersonville while he was there. I believe the diary was originally owned by a soldier from Indiana & it somehow came to belong to R.L. Williams. A fellow POW who may have died ? We wonder.
Not sure what to believe.
