Am directed by Genl Braxton Bragg to forthwith order the arrest of Lt. Col. M.T. Polk, prefer charges against him and make application to Genl J. B. Hood to order a court martial for his trial.

Learning that Lt Col M. T. Polk is in your department will you please order him to report at once under arrest at Post of Opelika Ala notifying me at same? time of his arrest and the probable time of his arrival at that point.
