Bourland's Border Cavalry Regiment
In Response To: Re: Border's Cavalry Regiment ()

Bill Nolan,

Yes, I have your "Robert A. Noland" listed in Throckmorton's Militia Company that enlisted Sep 12, 1861 into the Confederate States service. ... Please know that I transcribed every scribble on the militia listings and correspondence.

During the 2 months 19 days in question, Throckmorton's Company was under the command of Capt J.J. Diamond at Fort Cobb. Yes, I have outlined their activities while they were at Ft Cobb.

Throckmorton must be mentioned at least forty times in my book. He and Bourland coordinated their men in defense of North Texas from the marauding Indians -- never mind the jayhawkers.
