Greg Lee,
Question: Did Bourland's Border Cavalry Regiment have a regimental flag?
I have not heard of a flag flown by any of Bourland's men. The nearest thing to a flag was flown by the Kiowas to leave their mark at an attack on the white settlers. Below is a scene repeated several times in my 1,014-page book.
"When they scalp them, they cut off their left ear, and take out the left eye, and cut off the left hand, and then leave a piece of red blanket flying by their victims."
