I am trying to find out information on the 1st Regiment, Texas Lancers. My great grandfather's brother was in Co.H
3rd SGT Hezekiah Bussey of Shelby Co. TX.
What were the Lancers? I'm unfamiliar with them and finding much out about them so far has been rather difficult. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Any info is appreciated.
