That is interesting about your ancestor. Do you have any stories in your family about the experiences at Shiloh, Corinth or Vicksburg? Did your ancestor survive a long time after the war? My two ggguncles were from Co. K, Jackson County, one killed at Vicksburg, the other died at 29 back home at Jackson County but his grave has been lost. I think it would be nice to have some website where descendants from the Second Texas could communicate with each other about civil war stories,etc, I am not aware of any except this website.
