Re: Houston graves of Second Texas soldiers

Wes,

Another soldier from the 2nd Texas Infantry buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches County Texas is ROBERT CORLEY. I think I mentioned his name
earlier but I did not know for sure he served in the 2nd Texas.

Also Alex Beck, my GGgrandfather, was apparently in east Texas from the time of his Parole July 1863 until he returned to Duty Jan/Feb 1864. Daily Reports show him absent in Texas for Nov 1863 and absent without leave Dec 1863 and Jan 9, 1864. but present or rolls Jan and Feb.
and sick in hospital, Galveston July and Aug 1864 then furloughed 36 days March 21, 1865 by Gen Haws.

I have read that many of the soldiers contacted Yellow Fever in Galveston in late July and Aug of 1864 and that they were disbanded and returned home before Gen Taylor surrended all forces in June of 1865.
