Thank you for correcting the record regarding the relationship of W.P. Hardeman and P.C. Hardeman. The error in the Texas State Historical Society web page is unfortunate, but now that we have found you, a direct descendant of W.P. Hardeman, there is no excuse to perpetuate this error.

The Hardeman family research is, of course, more reliable than that of outsiders who are hired to write articles. ..I have always stated that hiring a non-family member to research a family is asking for trouble. ..It is impossible to give the hired researcher the family lore. ..I have published many family history articles, primarily about my direct ancestors, and am quite nervous when I venture beyond families on my ancestral chart.

You stated that both W.P. Hardeman and Peter C. Hardeman died in 1882. ..Is that correct?
