Just to add to the discussion, Peter Hardeman's wife, Nancy Caroline Keese, is the half sister of my great-grandfather G.W. Keese (1859-1920.) Their father, G.W. Keese (1800-1870) is buried in the Old Prairie Lea Cemetery in Caldwell Co., Texas along with other Keese family. Ironically, just a few feet away are the graves of the family (don't know the exact relation) of James E. McCord, commander of the Texas Frontier Regiment during the war. Some participants in this board may remember me mentioning that I wrote a biography of McCord as a Master's thesis at Stephen F. Austin in the mid-1960. I had no idea of the Keese/McCord association at Prairie Lea until a few years ago.
