That is very interesting. I would like to know more about what happened to Peter Hardeman after he went to Brazil. I know there are relatives in Brazil but have yet to actually make contact with anyone from there. Peter was known to have made the statement that he would never sign any "GD" oath and left the country for good. Peter had seen a lot death and horror on the battle fields so i imagine he was pretty Hardened in his heart and mind considering. To this day many historians and authors get him confused as the brother of William P. Hardeman. When in reality Peter is the brother to my GGG Grandfather Blackstone Hardeman Jr. Another interesting thing is that Peter, Blackstone Jr and Sr. were more involved in Texas Independence and as Rangers than most folks know about.
