Jack, I don't know, that is what I am trying to find out my self...My James Parker according to those who have answered my queries say yes...James supposidly deserted, from which side I don't know...But I am thinking since he was born in Georgia, he must have stayed true to the southern cause, but who knows...He was taken from Albert, OK and sent to the confederate Home in Ardmore, OK..I have never been able to find who paid for it, or his head stone..The federal govt said they didn't pay for his stone..I have ordered the documents from there site and am anxious to see what it says...But I really can't answer your question...Some enlisted in the CSA and was captured, then worked for the Union, who pays the pension?
