42nd VA Infantry - Company F query

Hello all,
I'm trying to research my great-great-grandfather's role in the war. His name was Flournoy Barrow and he enlisted in 1861 (apparently no older than age 12) near Martinsville in Henry County (the long-time home of the Barrow family, my maternal grandmother's people). I've seen the record at Appomattox CH, and found his name, though I've seen references on-line where his first name is listed as Benjamin and others as Absalom. My own Barrow family records suggest that Absalom is correct and that Benjamin is what he named a son, after marrying in 1869.

I'd be very interested in his military record and to know more about the movements and action seen by the 42nd and Company F (Leatherwood Fencibles).
Best regards,
Brad
