Looking for any advice on how to find where my great great grandfather served. Here is what I know through family tales:

Served as a private in Co. F, 16th Reg., Virginia Cavalry, CSA. June, 1863, 16th Reg. Signed up when he was 17 and served two years. Was in PA and passed through Chambersburg on way to Gettysburg. Wounded in battle of Moorefield on 7 Aug 1864 (right thigh). Appeared on a register of the C.S.A. General Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. Admitted Sept 1, 1864, "for 60 d's".

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sincerely, Jesse
