Greg, Henry, thanks for the info.
From those locations, the site I visited would be very close to have been the Janney furnace even with a error of a few miles.
Just looking at the maps, without digging out the topo maps, (I recently moved) it appears that the Cane Creek furnace would have been close to, if not inside the present NW boundry of the Anniston Army Depot.
Do you know if the location is accesable today?
