The most helpful information would be a list of dates and places that the 53rd Alabama was involved in skirmishes and actions during the year or so it was under Roddey's command. On a related note, I recently came across a short article in a Montgomery newspaper from early November 1863 mentioning this regiment. Wish I had copied it! The article described a successful attack by elements of the 53rd Alabama on a Union column north of the Tennessee River. I'll relocate the article and confirm particulars, which should fit with the context of Sherman's brief campaign along the rail line between Little Bear Creek and Tuscumbia of late October 1863.
