Just for fun, I tried to match these names against the Roster of Confederate Soldiers. I've put the best match I could find in the Roster against the name on the Talladega roll. Frankly, I suspected that there would be fewer matches than there are. I could not find anything for Capt. Shelley (although a Charles Miller Shelley is listed as Capt. in the Roster; are they related?) or for G. N. Scott. And, I had to stretch to a different company for Elijah Garrett, so no guarantees there....
