Re: List of Alabama Officers Who Died In Service

Request that Alan re-check one of the list.
* Listed is Captain Henry W. Cox, Co. B. 12th. Al killed at Chancellorsville May 3, 1863 (died May 9).
* I have relative named Henry M. Cox who served in Co. K of 14th AL. Muster Roll says he was in Co. K, 14th. Two sources on history of unit say he was field promoted to Lt. and KIA. Cenotaph in family cemetery in Chambers County, AL says he was killed at Fredericksburg on May 3, 1863. Widow's claim to CSA Treas. also states he was Lieut. of 14th, Co. K.

Could there have been two Henry Cox who was killed at same place and at same time? Any help in clearing this up will certainly be appreciated.
By the way, this is a great additional to an already great site. Thanks
