Thanks for the additions.
Hambrick served as captain for seven weeks during June-July of 1862. Apparently his was one of many illegal promotions made by General Bragg which were reversed as quickly as the regiment left Bragg's control. Hambrick's actual rank was 1st Lieutenant when he died on July 14, 1864.
Hopefully this explains why his name doesn't appear on the list of company captains. I do appreciate your notice of Lt. Hambrick's name and service. Hambrick is certainly worthy of notice since he served as company commmander in the continued absence of Capt. Sadler, who never fully recovered from a wound received at Shiloh.
I've made every effort to include the name and unit of all captains, field and staff officers, as well as lieutenants of artillery who lost their lives in Confederate service. It is only proper to apply the same dilligence out of respect for Alabama lieutenants who died while serving in the infantry and cavalry. If it can be done, I certainly will attempt it.
