Alan,
Actually this list was compiled by a variety of sources that I have collected on Gettysburg over many years. The information on 2Lt W.E.G. Hardwick of the 10th was in the Supplement to the Official Report, Part II, Vol. 1, 1994, but it does not list his place of death, although it is seems likely he was wounded at Gettysburg. The same source has 2Lt. Jefferson Bridges as having died on July 14, but given this date he may have been killed at Falling Waters on the retreat from Gettysburg. I lack other evidence to confirm the circumstances of these deaths. Incidentally, 1Lt. John Oates of the 15th AL was the brother of Colonel William Oates. According to: Recollections of War Times, by William A. McClendon (Montgomery, The Paragon Press, 1909), p. 180, John Oates and 2Lt Cody were wounded and captured and both died shortly after the battle. In the: Letters of Barnett Hardeman Cody, The Georgia Historical Quarterly, Vol. 23, Sep 1939, p. 271, it states that Cody died on 23 July 1863, being barely 19 years old at the time of this death. Cody died alongside John Oates. Tom
