Re: John Soto - 3rd AL Inf., Co.A

Jim,
There were two; Mobile Cadets became Co A, 3d Ala
Inf and Mobile Cadets #2 became Co K, 21st Ala Inf.

"On a summer evening in the year 1845, a number
of boys, of the first families of Mobile, met in
a vacant building on the west side of Royal Street,
between government and Conti, for the purpose of
organizing a military Company"

In a listing of Officers furnished to the Confederacy by The Mobile Cadets, Co A, 3d Ala
Inf: five Colonels, six Lt Colonels, eight Majors,
32 Captains and 29 Lieutenants, including one
Ensign.

The Cadets have a monument, Mobile Cadets Corner
in the Confederate Rest section of Magnolia at
Mobile.
