I see this thread is from a while ago. But, I'm gonna try and see if you get this. I have a sword marked "Co. H 3d A" on the hilt. It also has crudely marked Roman numerals LXIV (64) on the other side. The sword is an Ames 1840 Artillery sword with an 1846 date. Maybe it was a sword taken from the Montgomery Arsenal at the start of the conflict,...who knows. It sure is an interesting piece. Any interest? I'll send you pics. Chuck
